Hi Arkamez,

Could you please send us a sample sfm file with maybe 2 to 3 records so we can get some idea of your fields, please send this to our email address. We have also passed this onto our developer who will also provide some advice as well, also we have this web page http://www.miromaa.com.au/learning-centre/how-to/75-miromaa-import-instructions.html which may help if you have not already used it.

We have not considered Fieldworks data transfer into Miromaa before so are really keen to see how it can be done.

Regards

Daryn

Greetings Everyone,

I am in the process of transitioning to Miromaa from Fieldworks Language Explorer.  I have a good amount of data that I would like to transfer to Miromaa without having to enter each item individually.  I am a novice at all language software, so this may be much simpler than it appears to be for me.  I was able to view the sfm file I exported from Fieldworks in the Miromaa Open/Import window.  I did now know what I was supposed to do from there however, and when I clicked on import (after filling in tags for field markers in the "Your Selection" column) I simply received an error-type message that "The English Field did not contain an entry for every word." Perhaps this is because I don't have English entries for every lexeme or affixes in my Fieldworks (xml/sfm) file?

In the SEARCH feature, I searched in the field Linguist’s Comments, and got a ‘Unhandled Exception” error message for the ‘search’ tab, and the Table ; for the report it first asked me to save the report and then showed the same error message.

Change this to show the waveform instead of random effects.

Hi,

I have had this problem from the beginning, the only thing I have found to solve it is the program called Teracopy at http://www.codesector.com/teracopy.php.

I use it and problem solved, too easy, and its free.

This is an example of something I may have asked elsewhere. By using the custom fields, will these English translations show up in the Learner Mode search? Following KMarie’s example, if the Karifuna word ‹sapota› has its ‘word’ field as “rot”, and the ‘other senses’ field filled with “deteriorate” and “decay”, will one be able to find ‹sapota› by searching for “decay”?

I strongly believe that for the English search to work at all, there have to be allowances for multiple translations. Otherwise, the learner has to guess which English word the lexicographer thought was primary
